ACT ON EDUCATION WITH OCPA!
What’s up for 2012?

2012 will welcome exciting new ventures and programs to OCPA. We will not only continue to serve youth, but offer a theatre experience to our valued senior citizens.

Spring Break Performing Arts Camp - Spend your spring break with OCPA! We are offering a different spring camp this year. The week will include a few fun-filled theatre classes along with the opportunity to perform in a short play. This camp will be open to ages 7 to 12, Monday through Friday, March 26-30, 2012. It will be our fourth year offering this entertaining camp for kids.

Acting classes will be available for ages 7-11 and 12-19.

Magic of Theatre Summer Camps - OCPA is happy to be offer another summer of our stimulating theatre camps.

The new Southern Oregon Senior Theatre is already gathering interest. A number of seniors performed a melodrama last summer. Plans are in the works for a radio play and ten-minute shows in 2012.

We’re excited that we now have a “home.” Our new office is located in Central High School in Medford.  We also have classroom space where we will conduct acting classes.

OCPA’s flagship Magic of Theatre summer camps will be in its twelfth season offering kids and teens a fun-filled, educational, and enlightening theatre experience. In a classroom atmosphere, students ages seven to 19 discover the process of theatre, culminating in a stage production after just a few weeks of training and rehearsal. Since our inception, more that 1,800 kids have participated in our programs, which helps them develop their self-esteem, develop their skills in acting, voice, dance, and other aspects of the theatre. All students who sign up for our camps are cast in the show.

Our instructors comprise of talented professionals and educators who have a dedication to kids and the arts. They come from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, other local theatre groups, and public and private schools. We all love what we do – and that’s what makes our theatre camps such a meaningful experience for our students, many of whom return year after year. They make new friends, bond with kids from other walks of life, and grow creatively in a safe and supportive environment.

Last summer we had five awesome weekday camps. Check out our Gallery for photos of our past shows and camps on our website.

Thank you, Rogue Valley, for your continued support!
